HIV-AIDS

Presence of HIV infection facilitates acquisition of disease like TB or syphilis because of their impairment of cellular immune responses.Mycobacterium and treponema can lie latent in normal population.Depleting immune competence reactivates the latent infections of syphilis and tuberculosis. Infections like Herpes zoster occur again due to failure of defenses that should normally prevent recurrent attacks by some viruses.

Some low sperm count(mentioned here) diseases come through food and water. Tuberculosis comes through air. Some infections comes through dirt but some comes only through sexual intercourse. This last variety are called sexually transmitted infections (STD/STIs) Like Syphilis and Gonorrhea HIV also can be transmitted to others through blood transfusion. While gonorrhea, syphilis and other STDs can be eradicated satisfactorily, once acquired HIV can not be eradicated completely and satisfactorily. There are some microorganisms which like on us harmlessly, but HIV depletes our defenses endlessly. HIV makes our body easy prey to many sorts of infections with devastating consequences.

HIV can not be cured like many other diseases. There is no cure for blood pressure or Diabetes. If these conditions are left untreated, they can be life threatening. But people love comfortable lives dry using suitable medication and by modifying their lifestyle. We call blood pressure and Diabetes as treatable diseases. HIV is also a treatable disease. HIV patients can live for years and carry on their professional & social duties while under treatment.
